The Role of Media

The media and the civil society remain the mirror through which a democratic society is seen and examined. They represent the barometer by which the acts of a democratic government are measured or gauged. A free and vocal media relate the government activities to people as accurately as possible, and at the same time transmit the feelings and the expectations of the people back to the government. The media is expected to hold the government accountable and responsible to the people. The civil society is the platform through which the people express their demands from the government and obviate their disenchantment.
