The book which is a compendium of the author’s several lectures, articles and writeups x-rays the functions and workings of the Nigerian Judiciary and the challenges faced by this very important arm of government in a democratic setting such as Nigeria. The author submits that the judiciary in Nigeria has been badly battered by the exigencies ofour national environment. The honour and credibility of the judiciary in Nigeria has been eroded by the more powerful executive and the legislative arms of government. He therefore suggests that for our democracy to yield the desired and meaningful results and dividends, the respect and integrity of the judiciary must be restored, observed and sustained.
